Newcomers on walks are always welcome, but after three walks will be expected to
join The Ramblers’ Association.
All walkers must wear appropriate footwear and clothing relative to the conditions
likely to be experienced.
Walkers should bring any food and drink required for the duration of the walks including
packed lunches on full day walks.
Dogs are not permitted on walks.
All walks depart promptly at the times shown.
Wednesday evening walks last for about 2 hours (G1/2). Half day walks are approximately
4-7 miles long. Full day walks are approximately 10-12 miles long. Any variations
to mileage are noted in the programme. ’Stepping Stone’ walks are approximately 3-5
miles long (G1/2). They are linked to CCW and the Active for Life Scheme set up through
Local Health Boards. This scheme is to encourage people to become more active.
Walks have been graded to give a general guide to their nature. The length of walks
should also be taken into account, together with the weather preceding and on the
day of the walk.
G1 = Mostly flat walking. Paths are distinct, but rough and stony ground may occur
on some walks.
G2 = More demanding walking over hills and coastline, usually following clear paths
and tracks. Some ascents and descents.
G3 = Energetic hill walking normally on distinct tracks. Ascent and descents fairly
steep and rough.
G4 = Strenuous hill walking with steep and rough ascents and descents.
For more information, speak to the walk leader.
The Ramblers’ Association cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or injury
incurred on any walk or other activity.
